La base de datos no copia de los activos

Poco para decir mal, simplemente pegue mi código esperando que alguien vea lo que me falta:

La parte para llamar esto está en el método onCreate de mi actividad principal (Probé otros también, no fue el problema).

La parte extraña ahora. En mi dispositivo (no tengo acceso a la raíz, así que no puedo extraer la base de datos después de que se haya creado), mis datos parecen ser de 48 KB. Cuando se ejecuta exactamente el mismo código en el emulador, la base de datos no se copia (no selecciono ninguna excepción). Para ser exactos, la tabla android / metadata parece estar siendo copiada pero las otras tablas junto con los datos no son. ¿Algunas ideas?

si su nombre de archivo tiene extensión en la carpeta de activos debe agregar en el código.
