GSON esperaba BEGIN_ARRAY pero era BEGIN_OBJECT

Recibo este error cuando recibo solo un elemento en una lista. Estoy utilizando Jersey en el servicio web REST del lado del servidor, solo recibo el error cuando la Lista devolvió un elemento único y cuando tiene 0 elements obtengo java.lang.NullPointerException Pero cuando tiene más de uno funciona perfectamente, y así es como lo estoy haciendo:

¿Por qué Jersey no envía una lista que contiene un solo artículo? Es un error en jersey? ¿Hay alguna manera de hacer que siempre se serialice como una matriz?

Terminé usando la biblioteca de Jackson en vez de gson para analizar la respuesta json . Se convierte automáticamente objeto en ArrayList . Es bastante similar a gson en términos de facilidad de uso. ¡Espero eso ayude!
