Modificar las tags del eje x en cada faceta

Tengo este cuadro: me gustaría agregar a cada etiqueta el texto N=xx para indicar el número de observaciones. Sé cómo hacer esto y lo he hecho en gráficos sin facetas.

Cuando probé eso en el gráfico facetado, no funcionó (obtuve el mismo N en la marca abierta en los 3 gráficos, el mismo N en el restringido, etc.)

Espero que alguien pueda señalar el camino hacia una solución, ¿cómo puedo controlar los elementos en una faceta determinada?

Intenté crear las 9 tags y pasar ese vector al elemento scale_x_discrete , que acaba de reciclar los 3 primeros, por lo que tampoco resolvió el problema.

No es exactamente lo que quieres hacer, pero creo que esto puede ser útil (al menos un buen comienzo)

Con la misma información, seguí un enfoque de cuatro pasos.

Primero: subconjunto de los datos

 open <- subset(data1, Physicians_Out == "Open") restr <- subset(data1, Physicians_Out == "Restricted") closed <- subset(data1, Physicians_Out == "Closed") 

Segundo: crear las tags para los diferentes subconjuntos

 labs.open <- paste(gsub("/","-\n",names(table(open$Physicians_In)),fixed=T), "\n(N=",table(open$Physicians_In),")",sep="") labs.restr <- paste(gsub("/","-\n",names(table(restr$Physicians_In)),fixed=T), "\n(N=",table(restr$Physicians_In),")",sep="") labs.closed <- paste(gsub("/","-\n",names(table(closed$Physicians_In)),fixed=T), "\n(N=",table(closed$Physicians_In),")",sep="") 

Tercero: crear un tema para eliminar las tags y el texto del eje y para los subgráficos 2º y 3º.
